Two templates — Clean Professional and Modern Bordered — can be filled in and downloaded as PDF at no cost, with no time limit. Every other template can be opened, filled in and previewed for free; downloading it needs a paid plan. All articles and guides are free to read.
If you are not logged in, we ask for an email address once before a free template opens; it is remembered on that browser so you are not asked again. You can log in instead. How we use that address is explained in the privacy policy.
No. The builder works in your browser and does not save what you type. If you close or reload the tab, the entries are lost. Keep your text in your own document, paste it in, and download the PDF before you leave the page.
No — resumes download as PDF only. (SOPs can be downloaded as PDF or Word on paid plans.) If an employer asks for an editable file, type your resume into a word processor.
No. The resume PDF is image-based: it looks exactly like the preview, but the text cannot be selected, copied or edited, and software that reads text from uploaded files cannot read it. Use it for email and print; for job portals that read your upload, also keep a text-based copy. Our formatting guide explains how to check.
No. Free templates download without a watermark.
Each template has a colour picker for its accent colour, and you can hide sections you do not need. Templates with a photo area let you upload a photo or leave it empty. Fonts, column widths and the position of sections are fixed by the template.
No. There is no AI or automatic suggestion in the builder; it lays out what you type. For wording, see our articles on quantifying achievements and common resume mistakes.
For most first resumes and portal applications, a single-column template such as Clean Professional. Two-column and sidebar designs suit resumes sent directly to a person. Each template's detail page lists who it suits and its weak points — start from the templates page.
The pages and editors work in mobile browsers, but filling in a full resume is much easier on a laptop or desktop, where the form and the live preview sit side by side.
Plans and payments
No. Pro (₹99) and Premium (₹199) are one-time payments for 30 days of access; Unlimited (₹499) is a one-time payment with no expiry. Nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel. See pricing for what each plan includes.
You return to the free plan. Paid templates can still be opened and previewed, but not downloaded. Because resumes are not stored on our side, download what you need while your plan is active.
If you were charged twice, or paid and the plan did not activate, email us with the payment reference from your receipt or bank statement. Our refund and cancellation policy explains how billing errors are handled.
The SOP builder
A Statement of Purpose is an essay explaining your academic background, your goals and why a particular programme fits them. Universities ask for one with many master's and PhD applications, and some student-visa applications ask for a similar statement. Our SOP guide covers what goes in it.
Choose a template for your purpose — for example undergraduate, graduate, PhD, or a student-visa SOP for the UK, Canada, Australia, Germany or New Zealand — fill in each section, and check the A4 preview. Anyone can open and edit SOP templates.
Yes, on a paid plan: Pro covers the first 11 SOP templates and Premium or Unlimited cover all of them. Word downloads are .doc files that open in Microsoft Word and most other word processors.
You type a keyword such as "canada student visa" or "phd" and it searches our library of sample SOPs, written in advance by our team, and returns a matching sample. Each search uses one plan credit. It does not read, rewrite or grade your own draft, and there is no AI involved.
No. Samples show structure and tone; an SOP built from someone else's wording is easy for admissions readers to recognise and may be treated as plagiarism. Write your own statement from your own experiences — our article on drafting an SOP walks through the process.
Follow the limit the university gives — it is the actual requirement. Where none is given, many applicants aim for roughly 800–1,000 words, which is enough for a complete argument without padding.
An SOP usually focuses on academic and professional goals and why a specific programme fits them; a personal statement often gives more weight to personal background and experiences. Universities use the terms differently, so read each prompt carefully.
